geothermal baths

xperience nature from its core by bathing in the geothermal baths at Krauma. The hot water originates in Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver, at a temperature of 100°C (212°F). To achieve the perfect bathing temperature we mix the hot water with cold water from Rauðsgil, which originates in the glacier Ok, the smallest glacier in Iceland. Krauma offers five relaxing natural geothermal baths, a cold tub to get your blood circulation going, two calming saunas and a relaxation room where you can rest by the fireplace while listening to soothing music.

Superb hiking area with little tourist. Hafnarfjall (844 meters) is steep mountain which is located about 4 km from Borgarnes (its on the right side just when coming from Reykjavik, just before the road gets down towards the bridge).

Matarmenning

The restaurant has a one-of-a-kind view towards the sea, with its islands and rocks, teaming with bird life, as well as the occasional curious seal. The terrace extending south of the restaurant gives a good shelter from the north and north-eastern breeze. It is a real treat to sit there in the sun enjoying good food and drinks in a good company.
