Take the back road to Bowman. It's about an hour's drive. Higher clearance vehicles and 4 Wheel Drive are good ideas. Camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, lake kayaking await. Use the Cruzon Inn as a base camp.

Places to Eat
They don't populate for my Guidebook, but here are the only three in the area:
1) Peterson's Corner Road House. Traditional road house grub and full bar. Local grass fed beef burgers. Down home atmosphere. Old timers at the bar. Corner of Highway 49/Pleasant Valley Road.
2) The Ridge Stop Cafe. Organic coffee shop with bagels, smoothies, etc. Back patio. Dreadlocks and the hint of cannabis smoke at this local eatery. It's very popular. Downtown North San Juan on Highway 49.
3) The Brass Rail: Beer and wine bar and sometimes pizzeria. Downtown North San Juan on Highway 49.
