Best pizza in NYC. Be prepared for a long wait, however (could be 30mins + wait). Down by the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge. There's a whole story you can read up online about the rivalry between Juliana's and its competitor, Grimaldi's, next door! Long story short -- the owner of Juliana's used to be the owner of Grimaldi's, and now has since opened a new pizza place next door. What a boss! 34 mins subway ride.

My favorite brunch spot. This restaurant was the brainchild of Australian actor Heath Ledger before he passed away, and his business partners went on to open the restaurant in his memory. My favorite menu item is the Moroccan Scramble, which I order with a side of chorizo. Get there early for brunch, or else expect to wait for around 20-30 mins for a table. 17 mins by car, or 25 mins by bus (1 transfer).

Beware of the "CD Scam" in Times Square and Soho

If you are in Times Square or in Soho, chances are you may be accosted by individuals who are trying to scam you to purchase a "CD" from them. They will initially tell you that it's free, and give you a CD, and then "sign" it for you, and then ask you for a "donation". Even if you say you don't have cash, they will then bring out a Square Reader to ask you to pay via credit card! Best way to avoid this scam altogether is to avoid being friendly to any touters -- just keep walking by!

Subways are the best way to get around

Subways are, by far, the best way to travel between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Definitely get a "weekly pass", which will cost $33. The subways run 24 hours. The J runs every at least every 10 mins or quicker during most the days, and late at night it runs every 20 mins. The J will pass overground along the Williamsburg Bridge, which is a beautiful view to look out upon!
