This beautiful mountain is about two hours away from Muscat, you will need a 4x4. You can camp, stay at cheap hotels and five star fantastic hotel. If you are planning to visit this place then make sure you also visit Nizwa fort, Nizwa Souq, Al Abryeen village, Hotta cave.
If you want to enjoy the desert experiments then this is the perfect place. It is two hours away from Muscat. You will need a 4x4 car. Camping is the best thing to do here while cooking your own BBQ and seeing camels go bye (very safe) in day light you will see a lot of drivers showing off their driving skills by climbing up the desert mountains up and down (keep your distance). If you are not a camper then there are also ready made camp sites at different cost starting from affordable prices like $50 to about $250. You can also organise dune bashing trip for about $50 per car where the driver will take you inside the empty desert and enjoy amazing views

Oman has a rich culture blend with modern life. Omanis are very welcoming and friendly you will see it for yourself 😊 things to consider: always greet people with (Salam aleikum) it’s a nice gesture. Never shake a woman’s hand unless she put her hand forward first. Wearing desent and modest clothes will show respect however you can wear what you want

Oman is cheap so no need to pack much as you can get everything you need here, there are local shops and also big malls with international brands

You must try the local food like Harees, Qabooli, some swahili (African) food. We have a lot of swahili influence and many people including ME speak the language and that’s because of Oman and Zanzibar history (google it)
