Sightseeing
The castle at Monseraz is a step back in time. Within it's walled village you will find cobblestone streets, food, drink, souvenirs and of course, views of the lake and valley below. When most people think "touristy" they think $$$. Not here. The establishments which offer food and drinks are very reasonably priced, and the proprietors of the businesses are beyond friendly. Stay for an hour or two, or stay for an entire afternoon and enjoy the cafes and a good glass of wine, it's all up to you!

While Lake Alqueva might be a man made lake, it still is worth a visit. With a beach, nautical club and food and beverages all at the ready, there is something here for everyone. Whether that's a swim in the lake, a boat ride, or just soaking up sun beachside, this area is well worth the visit.

Evora is only 48km away, less than an hour by car and dates back to the Roman era. Evora is home to a Corinthina temple built in the 1st century, and can be found at the highest point of the city. The city is steeped in history and culture, with Evora's cathedral, museum and university. Evora's world heritage site, the old city centre can be found within the old city walls, where you can walk the maze like streets or spend time in a city square.
