You can get to Shoreditch High Street by taking the overground from Kensal Rise to Highbury and Islington and then changing platforms to Shoreditch. Turn left out of the station, there is a BoxPark on the left, and if you turn right you can wander down Brick Lane and buy bagels and find some great places to eat and drink. On a Sunday you can wander over to Columbia Road Market and spend the day there.

Sightseeing

Take the underground to Embankment, walk over the bridge to the Southbank and then wander along the river until you get to Borough Market near London Bridge Station. It's about a mile to walk with lots of great stops on the way - Tate Modern, The Globe Theatre, BFI, pubs, restaurants, lots to do at Borough Market. My favourite London day out.
