Completed in 1895, George Vanderbilt's 250-room French château is a real-life wonder. Enjoy a self-guided visit of Biltmore House that unveils a fresh look at how people lived and worked in America’s largest home. Explore the acres of beautiful gardens and grounds designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted during your visit. Also available to tour: Antler Hill Village, The Winery, Village Green, and the Biltmore Farm (wonderful for children). Located 12.5 miles from the cabin, plan a 20-30 minute drive on mountain roads and highway 40. Visiting the estate requires a Day Pass available online for a discount. Wear comfortable shoes -- lots of walking -- and plan to be on the property for the entire day as there is so much to see.

Turn left at the bottom of the ramp and go one mile to a stoplight. At the stoplight turn left and follow US 221 North to the entrance of Grandfather Mountain (about 30 miles).
