Indian Mound provides a rare opportunity to visit a significant Indian Mound site. The contoured landscape is a direct result of Indian habitation. The Indians were attracted to this spot for the availability of resources on land and in the bay. The suitability of this spot for early inhabitation is still evident to park visitors today. Trail of Florida's Indian Heritage is a great source of information about the ancient people who occupied the area that is now known as the Indian Mound Park. Indian Mound Park provides access to Lemon Bay and it is a key boat launching site in southern Sarasota County.

If you are looking for a one of a kind keep sake from a local potter look no further. Heather's studio is located in the little studio in front of the sea wall. It is filled with functional pottery that was throw on the wheel. Just let me know if you want to take a peek.
