My favorite local beaches
The Zephyr Cove Day Use Area is our favorite beach that is close to the house (4.8 miles). There is limited parking for $12 so get there early if you want to park in the lot. Most people park along the side of Highway 50 for free and walk in. Feel free to borrow our cooler and pack a lunch or you can eat at the resort where there is a restaurant, bar, boat rentals, paddle board rentals and more. Like all Tahoe beaches, Zephyr Cove can be crowded on the weekends. One of our favorite things to do is arrive late afternoon when the crowds thin out for swimming and stay to watch the sunset!

Sand Harbor Beach on the North East side of the lake is one of the most beautiful beaches on Lake Tahoe! It is pretty small but absolutely beautiful and there are rock formations in the water to explore and jump off. Parking is VERY limited and there is no parking on the highway within a few miles so you MUST get there by 7:30-8AM to get in the lot! You can park on the highway a few miles away but it is quite a hike along the side of the highway and not ideal.

Sand Harbor Rentals
Sand Harbor Beach on the North East side of the lake is one of the most beautiful beaches on Lake Tahoe! It is pretty small but absolutely beautiful and there are rock formations in the water to explore and jump off. Food scene
This is our favorite local Pizza spot with thin crust pizza, subs, pasta and salads. We really like the pizza and pasta but the salads aren't anything special. This is a great spot to get pickup and they will also deliver to our house.

The Oyster Bar is inside the Hard Rock Casino and has an awesome selection of oysters, jambalaya, gumbo and seafood stews. My favorites is the sea food "House Roast" which is a tomato based stew with your choice of seafood. Note that it is counter seating and there aren't many seat so there can often be a wait. It is also right on the casino floor so if you are sensitive to smoke this might not be a good option.

My favorites is the sea food "House Roast" which is a tomato based stew with your choice of seafood. Note that it is counter seating and there aren't many seat so there can often be a wait. It is also right on the casino floor so if you are sensitive to smoke this might not be a good option.
Clydes has awesome local coffee and fresh baked pasties every morning! Clyde's is right down the street from our house on Kingsbury Grade.

The Straw Hat Pizza and bar is inside Harvey's Casino just steps away from the gaming floor. I never get pizza here, I'm only adding it to the list because of the "all day $5 happy hour" which is $5 for a beer and a shot of Jameson any time of day or night! If I do eat here I like the Pastrami sandwich with tater tots!

The Chart House is a fine dining chain that has seafood and steak. It is right in the neighborhood and has great Lake views if you can get a good seat. Call ahead and make a reservation and request a window view. You won't be disappointed!

The sushi here is quite good and we like the Chicken Teriyaki. It is also really close to the house so it is very convenient for take out orders.

This is a local breakfast spot right in the neighborhood. It is a chain so its not super amazing but it is good greasy breakfast food and is better than a Denny's or iHop.

Mott's is a bar and grill with kind of a "dive bar" vibe that has good drinks and good bar food. It's right down the street from the house and is more of a locals hang out so if you are looking for a low key spot to have some drinks and bar food and avoid the crowds this is a good option. They have poker machines at the bar too!

MacDuff's is a Scottish style pub and has really good "pub" food. Its pretty crowded and loud and there can be a long wait but the food is great here for what it is.

This is one of the most popular pizza places in South Tahoe and is really good but it is located in Heavenly Village so it is often hard to get a table at peak times. There are also so many other good food options at Heavenly Village so we don't usually get Pizza when we are there but this is a great option for Pizza!

There are also so many other good food options at Heavenly Village so we don't usually get Pizza when we are there but this is a great option for Pizza!

The Kingsbury Stinger trail is a must for Mountain Bikers!
The Kingsbury Stinger trail is an intermediate downhill trail located right in our neighborhood. It is about 4.5 miles of mostly downhill flowy single track trail and ends right at the top of our street. You will need to shuttle to the top unless you enjoy 5 miles of uphill pedaling. This trail is well documented on most MTB apps etc but let me know if you have any questions. It is a BLAST!!

There are miles of hiking trails right in our neighborhood!
Most streets in our neighborhood dead end at National Forest Land where you can find miles of trails. You can reach the trails at the end of our street where it dead ends at Terrace View Dr. It is about a mile (North) from our house so you may want to drive and there is a small inlet to the left where you can park.
The streets below ours also dead end at National Forest land and you can access trails at the end of Juniper Drive and Meadow Lane. These trails are walking distance from the house.
Trails can also be accessed from Kahle Park which is about 1 mile away from the house.
