Food scene

Just around the corner from the apartment (5 mins uphill), this is a super cute and cosy restaurant, where traditional Valaisian food awaits: Raclette, Fondue, Rosti, local game, meats and cheeses. Reservation requests can be made online: https://www.caboulis.ch Apparently, you can also book walks and donkey rides through this company...who knew! Haven't tried any of these, but if you're looking for things to do, it may be worth finding out more!

Next to the base station in Veysonnaz, 5 minute drive or a 30-40 minute walk (approx). A good bar to drop into for coffee or drinks anytime. A comfortable place for non-skiers to people watch (some tables inside/the outside terrace have views of the bottom of the piste) and render-vous for apes ski. Traditional Valais food, steaks, salads and great pizzas from a woodfired oven. Book ahead in busy periods. If you ski down from the piste outside the apartment, this is where you end up! (And can get the gondola back to the top of the mountain). http://www.hotelmagrappe.ch/en

Neighbourhoods

This is the heart of the Four Valleys ski area (with prices that reflect this!). Lots of choice here for food and drinks whilst out and about on the mountain. Here are just some of our favourites: La Vache, Les Attelas, 1936 Verbier http://www.lavache-verbier.com Stunning location with amazing views though the outside looks like nothing. Worth booking, Rustic, stylish and great food. Cuckoos Nest, Les Attelas, 1936 Verbier http://www.cuckoosnest-verbier.com Partner restaurant to La Vache. Similar feel. Great terrace and views. Great food. Chez Dany, hameau de clambin, 1936 verbier https://www.chezdany.ch Possibly the best mountain food in the 4 Valleys. Tucked away down a narrow track on the way down to Verbier town. Can be a tricky run down in poor snow. Book before you go. Les Ruinettes Good food in self service style restaurant. Le Mouton Noir, Les Ruinettes, 1936 Bagnes, Verbier kvhotels.com Veuve Clicquot bar and restaurant. Stylish, great terrace, good food. Need we say more?! Le Dahu, La Chaux, 1936 Bagnes, Verbier ledahu.ch Outdoor seating. Good food.

Veysonnaz Printz is the ski area surrounding the apartment and includes Veysonnaz , Thyons and Siviez (all these areas are included in the same ski pass ticket. There is an extra cost associated with including Verbier). There are lots of bars and restaurants within this valley to stop, here are a few of our favourites: La Remointze, Les Combes, 1997 Nendaz (on the left side of Piste de Veysonnaz) http://remointze.ch Great food for lunch. Outside terrace with great views when its warm. Also good for dinner, but not always accessible by car when its snowy. Walkable in 45mins but strenuous Combyre, 1988 Les Agettes (at the top of the Veysonnaz gondola over Piste de Veysonnaz) The best place for non-skiers to hang out whilst trying to watch beginners having lessons. A good base for manageable snowy walks to Thyon, Le Tipi and Les Chottes (for the more adventurous). Valaisian food and bar. Where the ski instructors hang out. Le Cambuse Hotel/Restaurant, Chemin de la Bourgeoisie 11, 1988 Vex https://www.lacambuse.ch/index.php/fr/ Tasty Valaisian fare with a large outdoor terrace at the bottom of the Matze piste. L’Alpage, Route de l'Alpage, 1988 Thyon Part way down the Trabanta piste. IN the end of a converted cowshed. Good mountain food and drinks. Bar Le Tipi, 1992 Les Agettes Landmark tepee at the top of the Piste de Veysonnaz and gondola. Lively hub for drinks. If you are on a snow bar crawl, pause here when the pistes close. Then before dark brave the piste de vesyonnaz (don’t drink and drive!) or even braver, wear headtorches down - turn right off the slope and arrive back at the apartment! Les Chottes, https://www.leschottes.ch A rustic destination in the middle of the mountains on the Chottes piste heading towards Siviez/Nendaz/Verbier. A good walk summer or winter from the top of piste de Veysonnaz. Converted cowshed with great food and atmosphere. Large terrace, great views. Restaurant Combatseline, top of the Novelly chair in Siviez A great stop on the way to/from Verbier. Amazing views and terrace over the valley. Good food.

Located in the valley, head to Conthey to stock up! There is a large Co Op supermarket, Decathlon and even a McDonald's if you tire of the delicious local cuisine! Various shops in the shopping mall: https://www.bassin-centre.ch Remember - (pretty much) everywhere closes at 5pm on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays.
