After a 50-60 min drive from the Lake House you can reach the only "summer ski-resort" in Norway. The basis for this ski resort is that their location is on a glacier, which makes it impossible to use during winter time, since its then is completely covered by snow. Their season is normally during April/May, but this needs to be verified before you decide to go.

90 min drive will take you out to the west coast. And here at Hoddevika you can be able to go surfint, it that is a thing for you :-) If you want to plan a day trip there, I will reccommend you to coordinate your trip with the local surfcamp.

If you want to climb to a high summit, but dont have the feet to do it. Then this alternative should be considered. Great resturant on the top and several activities up there for both kids and grown-up kids :-)

The largest indoor aquapark in this region in Norway. Approx. 65 min drive from the Lake House. But there are several places to stop and take in beautiful views and find that perfect photoscene to take home. This aquapark is also located in the village of Fosnavaag, which is also a cosy fisherman village worth wile to explore. If you like this place, a night at the brand new Thon Hotel Fosnavaag can also be recommended.

10B LisjebøvegenThe largest indoor aquapark in this region in Norway. Approx. 65 min drive from the Lake House. But there are several places to stop and take in beautiful views and find that perfect photoscene to take home. This aquapark is also located in the village of Fosnavaag, which is also a cosy fisherman village worth wile to explore. If you like this place, a night at the brand new Thon Hotel Fosnavaag can also be recommended.

This is approx. 35 min drive from the Lake House. At Runde Miljøsenter you can explore the rich bird life on the Island of Runde. You can also visit a exhibition of the famous gold treasure RUNDESKATTEN, which was found there and is still the largest gold treasure ever found in Norway

Sightseeing
Geirangeir fjord is perhaps the most beautiful fjord in the world. My recommended route is to drive to Hellesylt (20-30 min from the Lake House), and take the car ferry from Hellesylt to Geirangeir. And on your return you drive up Geirangeir towards Strynefjellet, where you continue to Stryn and back to Grodås and our lake house. This is a perfect sightseeing for a full day trip, especially with nice weather :-)

My recommended route is to drive to Hellesylt (20-30 min from the Lake House), and take the car ferry from Hellesylt to Geirangeir. And on your return you drive up Geirangeir towards Strynefjellet, where you continue to Stryn and back to Grodås and our lake house. This is a perfect sightseeing for a full day trip, especially with nice weather :-)
If you want to explore a beutiful coastal village, this is one of the best in this region. A bit streatch in the car, but I think its worth it :-)

You can start you hiking trip from the the lake house, no driving is required. This local top is on 1306 m and is perfect for all ages.

If you want to have a spectacular extra night in the region, let me recommend Runde Lighthouse, but be aware you have to cross a mountain, and if you are afraid of heights, then perhaps this is not the place for you. Personally I have been there several times and also together with my kids in the age 10-14 years old.
