Best Beaches
Spectacular public beaches below the 5 star Montage hotel. There are several little areas, I personally like the last one which is very protected and hardly ever crowded. Walk the grounds above the beach, restrooms are A Plus and maintained jointly by the state and hotel since the beach is public but hotel guests use it also. Use the same beach as hotel guests paying $1000 per night. Go into the lobby before or after and enjoy piano music and a fantastic bar and view.

If you are in downtown Laguna you can’t miss it!
If you park in the state run parking lot there is a free shuttle which takes you to the historic area in case you can’t walk. The beachcomber restaurant validates parking for 3 hours with a $15 purchase. Tour the historic cottages and see one of the best beaches.

Parent company is Fleming’s and the $8 raspberry martini to die for! Happy hour food is excellent....try the ribs if you eat meat. It goes till 7 weekdays.Then explore the spectrum which has all kinds of shops including an Apple store . You can also take in a movie or ride the Ferris wheel.

Sightseeing
On the first Thursday of every month Laguna Beach opens up their art galleries and everyone is invited to stroll the streets. Most galleries have snacks and wine. It’s a fun casual night. Afterwards there is always live music at sky loft .

I love this place! Walk to the top and see the ocean looking down into Laguna. So many trails...pick up a map. Just a quick drive down the 133. Parking $3, cash or credit. Put ticket on your dash. Park closes at sunset.

One of a kind Restaurants
Right on the water, view cannot be beat. The wait can be long so check in and they will give you a buzzer and an estimate of the wait. Go for a beach walk and then come back...sandy feet allowed! Remember to get your parking ticket validated.

I just love this place on a warm summer night sitting outside. This is off the beaten track yet not far from my house. The inside is nothing special but the outside is surrounded by canyons and the trees are all lit up with lights.. A Mexican Tavern on the Green without the price tag!

South African sprawling multi-level restaurant and music venue with valet parking. Fabulous rooftop on a warm night to go for happy hour or dinner. Middle level has a bar with some great music. Small dance floor but people manage!! Downstairs is a piano bar and dining. I like the food but not the South African wines!! Sticking with California or Italian. Very friendly place and a locals spot.
