This mile high swing bridge is a must see.. the zoo houses many animals from giant black bear to fast swimming otters and is a nature conservancy park on donated land for public use, Enjoy!!

Roan Mountain's Carvers Gap has the Appalachian Trail or the AT run right thru it. Parking is quite busy but worth it in order to get a quick hike up to Grassy Gap or Roan High Knob for extended views of NC, Tennessee and Virginia mountains.

Thai Food?! Okay so we are in the mountains so this is not a high bar for Asian cuisine, but I can recommend that this family and this establishment are creating really good Thai experience and it is here on Grandfather Mountain!
