Great for breakfast, lunch or a slice of cake while enjoying the views across the valley. It’s a 2-mile walk following the River Avon along a country lane or 4-mile drive via main roads. Also has a really nice farm shop and butcher.

Gastropub at Bantham with small bar area and lots of table for eating. Popular for Sunday lunch and good for dinner. Worth booking as it can get very busy.

A rustic café at South Milton Sands serving burgers, fish and sandwiches etc. It also does dinner in the summer but only has 5 tables to book inside so if often booked up weeks in advance. They have picnic benches outside and you can takeaway and eat on the beach, if you can't get a spot during the day. The closest carpark is the one at South Milton Sands (50m) but you can also park at the Thurlestone end of the beach and walk along the beach or coastal path (300m).

Local pub with lots of history and character. A 10 minute drive or 2 mile walk along country lanes. The bus that goes through Aveton Gifford also stops right outside the pub. Has decent pub food.

We've not been there for a while. But its a popular seafood restaurant and a 1 mile walk along the tidal road at low tide!

Two sheltered sandy beaches with clear shallow water at the shoreline. Dogs are allowed on the beach but there are strongly enforced laws which help to keep things clean. It is a large beach with plenty of space. There are also 2 smaller beaches next to the Thurlestone Gold Club.
