Excellent Southern food (Ok, I'm a Yankee but I know food!) and great, diverse atmosphere with deep, unique craft-only beer list. My favorite is the pulled pork and chicken and waffles, best I've ever had.

Great Southern Indian/Sri Lankan food (with other Indian stuff on the menu as well). Huge amount of options for vegetarians and vegans, with plenty for omnivores as well. They deliver.

Sri Lankans themselves are their best customers so that tells you all you need to know. Sunday buffet is a great deal and lets you try a little of everything.

Eclectic, diverse and a little weird sometimes, this is a great place to hang after work and get a snack. Reminds me of some of the bars in the East Village before the yuppies and DBs took over.

Sightseeing
Civil War-era fort (part of the US National Park system) and modern military base beneath the Verrazano Narrows bridge. Amazing views and a mellow federally-protected beach next to the fort that leads to the city beach at South Beach with its boardwalk.
