Parks & Nature

The Parc national du Mont-Tremblant, or Mont-Tremblant Park, is a protected nature area and part Quebec's network of national parks. It alone represents close to 20 per cent of the protected areas of Quebec. It is the largest and oldest of Quebec's parks - the mountains are over a billion years old - and serves a catchment area of more than three million persons (not counting the people who visit it from the Outaouais-Ottawa region). It is part of two natural regions of the province (the Laurentides, or Laurentians, and the Lanaudière) and touches the territories of the MRC des Laurentides, of Matawanie and of Antoine-Labelle. The park extends over an area totaling 1,510 square kilometres, and five per cent of its surface area is within the territory of the Ville de Mont-Tremblant.
