Actually, the Zoo is nice but, the only way I was able to list one of my favorite things to do in Portland was to start with the Oregon Zoo The Hike is actually called the 4T Trail. 4 because on this hike you take a Trail, Tram, Trolley, and Train! This is a super fun way to experience a variety in Portland. Starting at the Oregon Zoo, you hike up to the top of Counsel Crest, the highest point in Portland. You will then board the Ariel Tram OHSU and ride it down to the OHSU Waterfront while taking in the incredible view of Mt. Hood. From there, the Trolley takes you into Portland Downtown and the Train delivers you back to where you started!

Head north from the studio down 7th street and into the Sellwood Park. At the north end, you will find one of many entries into the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Park. The loop is about 3 miles but, no need to walk it all if you would rather just go look! Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is a city park of about 141 acres. It is known for attracting a wide variety of birds and the feeling of being in the woods while viewing the wildlife is pretty fantastic! https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Oaks_Bottom_Loop_Hike

Four houses away from the studio brings you to the amazing Sellwood Park. If you have time for a walk, this is a must!!! At the northend, you will find a trailhead that leads down and around the 140 acre wetland of Oaks Bottom. It's a beautiful mixture of forested trails, water, and wild life! Either walk out and back or make it a loop. Depending on your direction, you may walk past our old historic Oaks Chapel, the oldest, one-story church in Oregon. View the Willamette River, 100-year-Oaks Skating Rink and Amuzement Park, and the city skyline along the way!

Drinks & Nightlife

A classy place built by a local owner/friend... and only two blocks away! Like most places you can walk to in Sellwood, keep your car parked and head south two blocks! This place is awesome! Great beer and food and, just nice to see the quality of his woodworking skills. He built everything, inside and out!
