Instagram worthy cafe and bakery! Excellent coffee, featuring locally roasted coffee beans courtesy of Timbertrain Coffee Roasters. All desserts and baked goods are made in house and everything is tasty. The building that houses La Foret was once an auto mechanic shop. You won't believe the transformation. The cafe is also very kid friendly (although sometimes it can get a bit noisy). Just a short drive away or about a 20-25 minute walk. The location is also walking distance to Metropolis at Metrotown Mall!

You will need to drive or take transit/taxi here but we promise the food is worth it! This is our favourite spot to get authentic German cuisine. The pork hock is amazing (and huge - definitely shareable) and the beer is served to you in a real German stein! Save room for dessert as well as the apple strudel is definitely a must try!

Wreck Beach (near Acadia Beach) is an internationally acclaimed and Vancouver's only clothing optional beach. It spans 7.8 km long. Leave the city behind and escape to this paradise with a fun loving hippy culture and serene ocean view. The beach is maintained by the Wreck Beach Preservation Society. Warning: Prepare yourselves as the only way in to (and out of) the beach is by a staircase of about 500 wooden steps that descend down to the beach from the road. While it may be easy to take the stairs down some may find it hard to climb back up the stairs at the end of your trip. Also, the beach does not offer flush toilets but there are portable toilets for use.

Lots of sightseeing and mountain top activities in the summer and skiing and snowboarding in the winter. There is always something to do on Grouse Mountain. If you're not entirely into the outdoors it is still worth the trip up the gondola as the views of the city are pretty amazing (and you can stop for coffee or your favourite alcoholic beverage at the top). If you visit during the summer make sure you check out the resident grizzly bears and the wolf sanctuary. There is also the world famous Lumberjack show atop the mountain! If you like you can climb the mountain using the Grouse Grind to get to the top for free! However, you will need to pay a small fee to ride back down.
