This was the first CSA in the US; now owned and run by pals of ours, Liz and Al. They don't sell direct except they sometimes do - they are at the Farmer's Market on Sat. Worth seeing if yr nearby.

A local chain grocery store, Big Y has decent organic produce (you have to look for it though), and a pretty good butcher; ask them to cut for you rather than buying from the case. Good for staples.

This is a farm that has incredible strawberries, raspberries, apples, blueberries, etc. Organic; pick your own, or buy, it's in an amazingly beautiful and secluded part of the area,...just go!

Great hike along logging road, Rare to encounter anyone else here, good dog hike, wild blackberries! watch for bears! There's a loop with high mtn views. Watch for and take connector trail back.

This is a great unused hiking area, with wonderful views...drive up Maple Hill Rd (dirt), you will see a very subtle parking area 1/2way over the road. Follow trails. Good xc skiing too.

If you're in Lenox, this is about the best place to eat. All day long cafe with good food, not unlike City Bakery in NYC. Beware a lot of the touristy restaurants in Lenox - simulacra of dining.

A great kid's toy store, not a chain, Tom is often in residence, in evidence. The lovely young lasses who work there are very knowledgeable and fun. Often wild kids are in there - reasonable!

These guys are great merchants...they really know their manufacturers, which shoes have wider / narrower lasts, which ones are well made etc. Hiking shoes, sneakers, trail shoes, & outerwear.

This is a deceptively amazing shop in an odd place. Lots of great local artisans (including us), photographers; potters, jewelers etc. A true piece of the Berkshire economy!

The best outdoor sports shop around. Right at the trail-head of Kennedy Park. The park is a bit crowded, but fine if you're testing stuff out, only want to do a speedy hike / are over there anyway.
