The Northcott Theatre in the Exeter University campus, always has memorable productions. A friend invited me to a production called 'The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk', about Marc and Bella Chagall. "Through its exploration of the Chagalls' marriage, consider's the nature of creativity, the personal cost of art, the self-sacrifice involved in supporting someone else's talent and the way that love itself can be an art".

Bowden's hardware store in Chagford is a curiosity, its like a rabbit warren and is reported to sell 'everything'. Chagford is a beautiful small moorland town, with a strong art and culture scene, theres even a summer festival called Chagstock, Friday 20 July 2018 – Saturday 21 July 2018.

Waitrose & Lidl's Supermarket are on the left as you drive into Okehampton from Hatherleigh. Waitrose have a good offer of a selection of free cakes( including almond croissant) with purchase of a hot drink, these offers are subject to change. Open from 8am, good for a treat for the children, can take away en route to a beach or walk on Dartmoor.
