Run by the same owner as the Blaa Alm, This has fantastic views summer/winter, and is a perfect place to stop and rest your ski's. Great value food!

If you fancy a bit of a hike or a MTB ride, this is always a great stopover. Stunning views and local harty food! (2hrs by MTB and a 4hr hike).

Dachstein Giant Ice Caves, and the sky walk are well worth a trip!
Easy hiking, with some nice places to get a bite to eat on the mountain! You can take the cable car up, or even drive up the the Alm.

An easy hike for small children. Ours went up there with 5years old. There is a viewing tower on the top (just visible from the house).

A great hike (the Altaussee side is steeper, and the Goisern side is an easier hike). About 4hrs walk. There is a small hut for refreshments near the top! Lovely views of the whole area!

Featured in the Film "Monuments men", the saltine was the place where Hitler stored his personally looted artwork. Altaussee was the last place to be liberated in WW2 and the plan was to blow up the mountain with all the artwork in it!

A settlement area since the Hallstatt culture, Bad Ischl was first mentioned in a 1262 deed as Iselen. In 1419 Archduke Albert V of Austria established the local seat of the Salt Chamber (Salzkammer) at Wildenstein Castle and Ischl was granted the privileges of a market town in 1466 by Emperor Frederick III.
On 19 August 1853 the engagement between Franz Joseph and Elisabeth of Bavaria (Sisi) took place at the Seeauerhaus, Esplanade No. 10, which since 1989 has been the location of the Museum der Stadt Bad Ischl.
