Parks & Nature
With stunning views over Canberra, the National Arboretum is a real gem of a spot for visitors.
The children's play park near the visitor's centre is just delightful, and I recommend the guided tours to understand the history of the arboretum and the innovative plan for its future.
There are lots of interesting and beautiful sculptures scattered through the grounds.
Also a wonderful place to fly kites!

There are lots of interesting and beautiful sculptures scattered through the grounds.
Also a wonderful place to fly kites!

Smiths is a cosy space in the city where you can get a relaxed cuppa and be entertained most nights of the week with local bands, poetry slams, story telling and other interesting entertainment. Most events cost $10 or less for entry, and almost any night of the week there will be something happening. The art on the walls changes regularly and is for sale, so it is a gallery as well. If they have their sticky date pudding on the menu make sure you try it as it is just awesomely delicious!
