Parks & Nature

Little Garrafon is on the Cancun Bay side of the island just a little further south than the big national park. The price is 60 pesos for a day of snorkeling at a protected cove. They serve simple food and good drinks plus provide all the gear for renting. One of our favorite spots for enjoying the day.

Essentials

Grocery store and so much more. Great place to shop for those inexpensive souvenirs, a cover up for the beach or a bathing suit or food or oil for your car. Stock up on fresh avocados and ask the butcher for some fresh chop meat for your burgers. The air conditioning is perfect and the bathrooms are sparkling. The rotisserie chicken is always a hit. Accept that the staff speaks Spanish - you are in Mexico - and you'll be fine. There are plenty of expats in the store to point out which milk to buy and where the beer is. Wander around and have fun. Remember the meat is weighed in Kilos - 2,2 American pounds. The prices are great and the food is fresh. Enjoy!

Getting Around

Ciro's is a reliable golf cart rental place. Carts are in good repair and they will refill your gas if you stop in during the day. They are across from the downtown market... which is a great place for a cheap meal.

The golf carts are good and they will come to where you are staying to fill your gas tank. If there is a problem with a cart, they are with you within minutes to fix it or give you a new cart.
