So, of course we had to go visit the oldest bar in Seville, especially when it's been around for over 400 years! It was definitely pretty old school in its furnishing and styling, but it has charm. Established in 1670. www.elrinconcillo.es

A bakery and cafe with the words 'institution' written all over it, La Campana has been heaving with sugar addicts since 1885. Workers and the elite alike storm Seville’s most popular bakery for a yema (soft, crumbly biscuit cake wrapped like a toffee), or a delicious nata (custard cake) that quivers under the glass. www.confiterialacampana.com

The church has a Basilical structure with three naves. The main cross is covered by barrel vaults and the rest of the bays are covered by cross vaults. Inside the temple, the major altarpiece should be highlighted, because it is considered to be one of the most monumental and representative works of the Baroque style in Seville as well as the colossal altarpiece of the façade of the sacramental chapel, which is dedicated to the Transfiguración (Transfiguration), both are works by Cayetano de Acosta (1770- 1779).

The Torre del Oro (English: "Tower of Gold") is a dodecagonal military watchtower in Seville, southern Spain. It was erected by the Almohad Caliphate in order to control access to Seville via the Guadalquivir river. Constructed in the first third of the 13th century, the tower served as a prison during the Middle Ages. Its name comes from the golden shine it projected on the river, due to its building materials (a mixture of mortar, lime and pressed hay). The tower is divided into three levels, with the third and uppermost being circular in shape and added in 1769. The Torre de la Plata, an octagonal tower, is located nearby, and is believed to have been constructed during the same era.

The Maestranza is without doubt one of the City's most beautiful monuments (...) one of those pre-eminent edifices which are able to confront alone the passage of time and which make Seville what it is. Is there, by any chance, a site more beautiful than that of the Maestranza?  Looking over the river, the Maestranza has seen the waters of the Guadalquivir flow past without feeling time passing. And if the Giralda brings cultures together, the Maestranza reminds us that there is always a place for the brave, and that our destiny is not decided.www.realmaestranza.com

Parks & Nature

The Maria Luisa Park (Parque de María Luisa) is a public park that stretches along the Guadalquivir River in Seville, Spain. It is Seville's principal green area. Most of the grounds that were used for the park were formerly the gardens of the Palace of San Telmo. They were donated to the city of Seville in 1893 by the Infanta Luisa Fernanda, Duchess of Montpensier, for use as a public park.[2] Starting in 1911, Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier rearranged the gardens into their present shapes. In 1914 the architect Aníbal Gonzalez began construction for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, which was held partly within the park, The new buildings of the Plaza de España.
