Large complex in the Canberra Centre. Their Premium Lounge is a brilliant treat, especially if you're on holiday and can catch a daytime movie. Order lunch and a glass of wine to enjoy during the movie - or morning tea and bubbly, or supper and coffee, etc etc etc. This is a personal favourite, recommended to all guests.

Palace Electric in Nishi is marvellous but the Premium Lounge at Dendy in the Canberra Centre is my absolute favourite for a movie treat. Settle back and have your food and drinks arrive just when you want them. Luxurious leather seating, fully adjustable. Spacious. Well worth the extra cost. Great for other movies in regular theatres too if they're not on at Palace.

So many tourist places are close to the lake and there's a wide path all around it for walkers and riders. In warm weather, spring through to autumn, you can hire an electric Go-boat from Kingston Foreshore and have a picnic out in the lake. Wonderful!

I have wonderful memories of Corin Forest and it's about 45 minutes by car from Nishi. (You normally won't need chains -check their website for updates.) Personally, I prefer to go there in summer. The mountain slide is heaps of fun. Corin Forest is a beautiful place for a picnic. Visit Corin Dam and nearby Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, and Gibraltar Falls.
