Coffee & Breakfast

Just up on 39th, 5 blocks north in the neighborhood at the new (and historic) Rock Drill development; check out the beautiful murals of American singer/songwriter, John Prine, and civil rights activist, John Lewis, while you sip your coffee while lounging on an industrial swing chair. If the coffee cart isn’t open, Corvus Coffee is just a block west at the end of the 39th Street parkway.

Location #2 on Champa St. is a bit smaller than the original Rivers & Roads on Bruce Randolph Ave. It also has a smaller menu than the original location, but it’s a pretty walk through the neighborhood, and they have an amazing mural of Billie Holiday on the side of the building. You can stop by the Black American West Museum before or after too…or just head a few blocks west to RiNo.

In fact, it has become a must-see destination when visiting Denver. At Union Station’s center is the Great Hall, a sweeping room with glistening chandeliers and ornate, white molding to emphasize the 65-foot ceilings, and enormous, arched windows that flood the hall with sunlight. Visitors can discover a microcosm of Denver's best local chefs and culinary minds; eclectic boutiques with artsy gifts and local crafts; and a miniature version of Denver’s most beloved bookstore, The Tattered Cover. Cherry Creek North Shopping District is FULL of shops of all kinds, fantastic restaurants and bars. More expensive but a lovely neighborhood to walk around and explore. If needed, Cherry Creek Mall is just across First Avenue too.

The stretch between 38th and 46th avenues on Tennyson Street has developed into a dining, drinking and shopping destination all its own, with high-end eateries, casual diners, cocktail bars, and more. With the street and its surrounding neighborhood changing almost daily, it can be hard to keep up but it's worth a stop and stroll while you are in Denver.

Funky boutique stocking vintage clothing, locally made products, eclectic accessories & other affordable gifts. It is one of my "go to" shops for buying gifts for others (and jewelry for myself).

The S. Pearl St. area in Denver is a wonderful place to peruse independently-owned small biz shopping, coffee shops, and wonderful restaurants. Five Green Boxes is directly across the street from common threads boutique and is one of my favorite gift shops in all of Denver. It’s easy to spend an afternoon in this area shopping and sitting watching Denver go by. Truly a quaint neighborhood to explore.

The Mission Ballroom is a fantastic, new concert venue located in RiNo neighborhood (just a mile away from our house so you can walk to the venue!). The building opened in August 2019 with a capacity of nearly 4,000 patrons. There are food trucks outside the venue before events, but if you want to sit down and eat and drink beforehand, Black Shirt Brewing, Bigsby's Folly and Blue Moon Brewing are within walking distance too.
