This is a great local burger place -- you can even get your burger rare if you want. I also particularly enjoy the spiked milkshakes :)

This is the coffee shop STAPLE in downtown Raleigh & the place to come if you want to work from a coffee shop with outlets & wifi. I can't even count the number of times I've com here to met up for coffee meetings or to hunker down and knock out some work.

This is iconic Raleigh right here. Where all the locals come on the weekends to get some casual eat + drink. Raleigh Times is huge: it takes up about half a city block and includes a 2nd floor and rooftop bar. It's lively, with a great selection of beers. This place has a soft spot in my heart as it's where I came to celebrate with friends after I eloped with my husband :)

This place has a soft spot in my heart as it's where I came to celebrate with friends after I eloped with my husband :)
An amazing Ashley Christensen restaurant -- a must try for foodies, although you may have to wait for a table since her cookbook "Poole’s: Recipes and Stories from a Modern Diner" just came out in Sept 2016.

The Amtrak station is conveniently located downtown. You can get to Charlotte, Washington DC and everywhere in between for relatively cheap (it's my personal favorite way to travel, especially now that there's outlets in every seat and free wifi)!
