Food Scene

Cheap! Good value for money. It is a real Roman experience. Tons of tourists, but tons of locals, too, because the prices are so low and the pizza is quite good. Aggressive, non-nonsense service. You will be charged "coperta", so eat the bread (and quit whining about a euro fifty since you are only paying 8 euro for a pizza). Skip the desserts.

Reasonable prices for VERY good, modern-traditional food. Across the street from San Clemente Church.

Very expensive, but with a fantastic view of the Colosseum. Go when the weather is nice and the rooftop is open. Otherwise not worth it. It is located in the Relais Chateau Palazzo Manfredi (about a 5 minute walk).
