Without a doubt, one of the crown jewels of the Gulf of California. You can do day tours to the island or stay for several days. There are several good operators including Baja Expeditions. Snorkeling and swimming with the sea lions is a must, as well as enjoying lunch on one of the islands beaches (e.g. Candelero).

Nice beach about 25 minutes from La Paz. It is one of the most well known and iconic beaches in the area. The water can be very shallow at times and it is important to always be careful of the sting rays.

One of the few 100% fully protected marine parks in the region. Cabo Pulmo is the northernmost coral reef in the Eastern Pacific and the only one in the Gulf of California. The local community decided to protect this area over 20 years ago and today it serves as a model for marine conservation. It is located 3 hours south of La Paz, but worth the drive for divers and nature lovers.
