Recommending with a caveat: Southern Salt has just about the freshest seafood in Morehead, and a gorgeous view, but the service can be spotty to downright incompetent. They seem to have better service during the day.

El's Drive-In

This small place is take-out only, but they have a small outdoor seating area. THE BEST old school Eastern North Carolina fried seafood. Be forewarned -- this is in Atlantic NC, not Atlantic Beach. It's 30 miles east of Beaufort, and there's nothing else in the area. Beautiful drive, though.

Be forewarned -- this is in Atlantic NC, not Atlantic Beach. It's 30 miles east of Beaufort, and there's nothing else in the area. Beautiful drive, though.
Delicious, inventive seafood. It's always packed, even in the winter, so call ahead for a reservation.
