I have always loved the convenience of the Waybury Inn Restaurant. They have great food . I often do take-out, but it is a cozy little dining room for eating-in.

This is a secret dining spot because it is primarily a student cafe in the heart of Middlebury College. However, they have excellent food, much of which is sourced locally through the College's dining program. Fun atmosphere to eat-in, with pool tables and, sometimes, performances. It's in the Student Center, so if you can't find it, just ask for help. I usually go for dinner, but would also be good for lunch when school is in session.

This community focused organic pizzeria is a frozen pizza factory by day and booming eat-in restaurant by night. Warm, charming, easy, delicious, this is one of our personal favorites. Plan for a possible wait on busier nights.

This Thai-focused pan-asian menu includes sushi and is quite good for eat-in or take-out. The restaurant atmosphere is clean and charming.

Always surprises me to have such good Indian food in a rural Vermont town. I haven't had bad meal here and I have been many times over the years.

This special dining spot is worth the drive. Mary's prides itself on fine dining in rural Vermont. They take great care in upscale food preparation with the best local ingredients and serve it with care, unpretentiously. I love going here whenever I get the chance to make the drive.

1868 N 116 RdThis special dining spot is worth the drive. Mary's prides itself on fine dining in rural Vermont. They take great care in upscale food preparation with the best local ingredients and serve it with care, unpretentiously. I love going here whenever I get the chance to make the drive.
If you feel like exploring Brandon, the next closest town center to the south, Cafe Provence is great excuse to do so. It's about a 20 minute drive and has a delicious French menu, created by the locally renowned Chef Robert.

There are musical performances, dance recitals, art exhibitions - many of the above include wonderfully intimate pre or post show talks. Downtown Middlebury is not technically a shopping mall, but Main Street has all of the charm of an open air shopping mall. I recommend taking a stroll down the street and checking out all of the shops. It is one of my favorite places to go gift-shopping, as there are so many one-of-a-kind finds.
