From the photos on the walls to the trophy-filled display cases to the putting green for diners awaiting a table, Arnie's essence infuses this restaurant. It's a big, clubby place good for groups. Among the well-crafted main courses are Arnie's homemade meatloaf, double-cut pork chops with potatoes fondant, and the popular mac and cheese. The wine list is top-notch, and there's entertainment most nights.” – Fodor's Travel

Really interesting flavors and vegan options. Why do we use Liquid nitrogen (-321°)? Because this allows us to freeze ice cream to order, creating less ice particles and no air which results in a smoother, creamier ice cream. The base of our ice cream is 100% Organic with no preservatives, no additives and we use local fresh ingredients to create our flavors.

The Salton Sea is one of the most enigmatic places in the Southwest–an otherworldly lake in the barren, naked desert, sandwiched between the Coachella Valley and the Mexican border. This former resort region had its heyday during the early 1960’s, when it was a bustling place filled with weekend revelers from SoCal. Wear closed shoes and walk on the beach. Great place for bird watching. Go to the Salton Sea Sonny Bono National Wildlife Refuge.

Day trip. Plan 45 mins. to an hour drive up there. Go up Highway 62 through Yucca Valley. Eat lunch or dinner on the way out at Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown and tour the old westen movie sets. Or, drive all the way across the park, exit on the east side and take I-10 for an hour back to La Quinta. Joshua Tree National Park is a vast protected area in southern California. It's characterized by rugged rock formations and stark desert landscapes. Named for the region’s twisted, bristled Joshua trees, the park straddles the cactus-dotted Colorado Desert and the Mojave Desert, which is higher and cooler.

The Cove to Lake Trail departs from the La Quinta Cove Oasis and leads hikers through an enchanting landscape of mountain, water, and sky. After parking in the unpaved lot at the corner of Avenida Bermudas and Calle Tecate, follow the Cove Oasis Trail for .67 miles before turning left on the Cove to Lake Trail. The first part of the path is relatively flat, cutting through wide-open sandy terrain at the base of the Southern Santa Rosa Mountains before transitioning to more ups and downs (enough to get your blood pumping but still suitable for runners, mountain bikers, and horseback riders). Springtime treats travelers to a host of beautiful wildflowers speckling the mountainside, and some hikers are even lucky enough to spot bighorn sheep grazing on the emerald green fairways of the Quarry Golf Course, which runs parallel to part of the hike. The path eventually veers away from the private property and toward the sparkling waters of Lake Cahuilla, whose mirror-like surface reflects the surrounding rock formations and clear blue sky above. At this point, many hikers return via the same route, which spans a total of 6.4 miles out and back, as there is a fee to use any of the facilities within Lake Cahuilla Park. Total Distance: 6.4 miles Level: Moderate

If you have never experienced a polo match before this is a fun day. Parking is just $10 and you can enjoy the matches for the general admission, fieldside tailgating or at the Clubhouse Restaurant. Polo is fun for all ages. Take a blanket and pack a lunch. Ok to bring in your own cocktails for tailgating. Attire is casual. Shorts are fine. Dressy hats are fun but not necessary at all. Matches are at 12pm & 2pm and gates open at 10am. "Beware the steaming divot" - Pretty Woman

Cabot Yerxa followed his heart and created an iconic place. Cabot’s Pueblo is marvel of engineering and design. The home was built beginning in 1941 and was always intended to be a museum in addition to the residence for Cabot and Portia Yerxa.
