Food Scene
The food is absolutely delicious and the portion size is not what you would expect - great sizes for value of money! During our lunch hour, we can order and be served within 15 minutes, eaten & then paid before the hour is up!
Dinner time takes slightly longer - maybe 20 minutes for the order to arrive, which is still great timing for a VERY popular restaurant. Advisable to pre-phone to make a table booking, but not absolutely necessary.
BYO alcohol is also allowed, with a small corkage fee.

This is our favourite cafe / bakery in the area, which is only a short 10 minute drive away. The food is always very fresh and tasty, and customer service is always top notch!
They have a large seating area down the back of the shop, or some tables outside to enjoy the sunshine.

Feel like a little French food on your Saturday or Sunday morning outing? Then this is THE place to visit!
Tucked away up a Residential street, you must arrive early to secure a carpark ... these fill up very fast, and you will soon see why. The food is to die for, with SO many different stalls to choose from. You can also purchase fresh produce, and whilst sipping on your Mochaccino, why not take a seat outside and listen to the live music. Absolute bliss!

Garrison Public House feature gourmet pizza's (my all time favourite, 'The Aucklander' (if you enjoy cashew nuts, that is!).
They often have live music on Sunday afternoons, who doesn't enjoy a lazy sunday filled with food, a couple drinks and live music? They also have plenty of TV's scattered around the indoors and outdoor section, which you can watch live sports events that maybe happening.

Parks & Nature
There are a multitude of walks throughout the Waitakere Ranges, you could be out there for HOURS, so make sure you do your research to ensure the trek you want to do is open (if there has been bad weather, some treks can be very muddy) and take snacks / good weather supplies.
Some of the treks even have quaint little waterfalls at the end of them, well worth the hike!
