Beautiful Nelson city beach - spend an enjoyable day sunbathing, swimming, playing volleyball, kite-surfing, paddle-boarding or kayaking. Or just go for a walk, run, build a sand castle with kids or let them zoom around the vast playgrounds.

A bustling beach area where you can hire SUPs or learn to kite surf. Great playground for the kids, cafe, go-karts, mini golf and so much more

Huge, sandy beach with mountain backdrop. Head to the northern end and you'll find fine, soft sand for playing and gently shelving beach for swimming. Paddle board and kayak hire, great for swimming, playing, play areas, walking, picnicking, kayaking, paddle boarding. Head to the south end (back beach) and you'll find the dog walkers, kite surfers, surf casting, keen walkers. The back beach changes with the state of the tide - at low tide the sand bar is exposed. IT can be fun swimming in the lagoon which appears but take care - the tide can be very strong here and is not recommended for young children.
