Spec's used to be a museum, and still is in a way. The walls are covered with San Francisco quirky history! The grumpy bartender will pour a fine ale, and if you ask for "cheese and crackers" he will cut you a nice wedge of Edam for your dining pleasure. Just don't play the piano without asking.

One of the most historic bars in all of San Francisco. Opened in 1968, Specs' has been home to a menagerie of misfits, from strippers and poets to longshoremen and merchant marines. It's a true dive.

This hidden hole in the wall bar has a charming San Francisco feel to it. Worth a visit for a quick drink. Or a few drinks. Sometimes they have live music.

Great dive bar, nautical themed. Come here to see the locals or hear quality live music. I am always surprised by something new and quirky every time I visit.
