Our favorite local spot to eat and voted the 'Best Burger' in the nation! All home-made, great atmosphere and friendly folks. You'll love it!
This place is yummy! Is very popular, so sometimes has a wait. In Custer so a bit of a drive. Closed on Sundays.
This burger joint in downtown Custer was voted best burgers in the US by TripAdvisor in 2014. They are so popular that there's often up to an hour wait in the summer, but totally worth it!
"best" burgers in South Dakota. Rated top 10 in US. You won't regret it. They moved to a different location, nearby. I recommend the "Hot Granny"

National Park
“Deep beneath the vast expanse of the golden, windswept prairie in western South Dakota is the seventh-longest cave in the world and one of the most complex cave systems, a subterranean realm of maze-like passageways, water-carved rock formations and delicate mineral growths. Wind Cave has long been considered a sacred place for Native Americans. In 1903, President Theodore Roosevelt signed the bill that created Wind Cave National Park, the fi rst cave in the nation to be designated as a national park. The park also features more than 30 miles of hiking trails above ground, offering ample opportunities to spot bison, elk and other wildlife roaming freely. When it comes to hiking trails, Wind Cave National Park Ranger Tom Ferrell recommends Rankin Ridge. The 1-mile loop "goes to the highest point in the park with great views. While the fi re tower is closed, the view from the base is wonderful, especially at dawn or sunset," Ferrell says. After advocates brought attention to the fact that only 1,000 bison existed in the U.S. in 1913, Wind Cave received 14 of the animals from the New York Zoological Society. Today, some 500 bison roam the park, favoring prairie dog towns and fresh burn sites for their short grasses. Chat with a ranger upon your arrival to learn of the herd’s latest whereabouts. Nearby Towns: Hot Springs (7 miles); Custer (18 miles)”

“This is the largest active Mammoth site in the United States and a great treat for all the family. The introductory film is well done. Geologic specimens and panels before you even enter the enclosed site are very useful in understanding the Black Hills. Inside, you can walk through the site and the interior exhibits are also very informative. Did you know that there were two kinds of Mammoths in North America?”
