Koku Kitchen Buns/Ramen & Gyoza Bar

Warum Einheimische es empfehlen
This place has instantly become the institution for Japanese buns in town. Their delicious DIY pulled-pork, beef, and chicken buns are unrivalled. Cozy, affordable, with great music and hip customers, Koku is the perfect place to have a bite before going out. There’s a clandestine-ish ramen and gyoza bar downstairs, too. Their white kimchi and their yakitori are plain addictive. And although their buns are a must, the donburi—a rice bowl with toppings and a slow-poached egg—is a perfect and flavorful cure for a hangover.

Koku's second and newest shop. Ramen in the "secret room" inside and Buns in the main room area. It's usually not very crowded which is a plus in Barcelona.

Run by a friend of mine and his wife, this restaurant is the best place for typical Japanese buns, ramen and gyoza (not sushi), the food is quality and the atmosphere is great.

Great informal Ramen and Gyoza bar in el Borne. If you are staying long enough in Barcelona to start missing a good ramen; there is this Fantastic spicy ramen full of kimchi!

Absolutely delicious bao and there is also a gyoza bar. Super yummy, located in the heart of Born.

Café
“What could be better than a silver 1972 Citroen HY van converted into a coffee truck and outfitted with a La Marzocco—the Ferrari of coffee machines? You’ll find it parked inside Space 88, a spruced-up warehouse filled with galleries that hosts many events. Mornings, the young employees of the Poblenou neighborhood’s many startups pour in to fuel up. They buy the beans from Nicaragua—always 100% Arabic—and roast them here in Barcelona. Pair yours with one of their delicious cookies or cakes of the day.”
