Getaway from the crowds and go for a beach walk which is located at the end of Saunton Sand. 25 mins drive from the accommodation.
No facilities here, just a carpark. Great for a dog walk or a sunset barbecue on the beach at high tide. Not ideal for swimming as Crow is at the end of the estuary. Perfect for a fire and marshmallows and some dune jumping!
Dramatic dunes meet the twin estuaries for the Taw and Torridge rivers. Amazing views of Appledore, Instow and out to Lundy island.

Point of Interest
“Hire a bicycle and explore the Tarka Trail. Stunning views along the estuary towards Barnstaple and beyond to Instow and Bideford. Flat, and safe, no cars, lots of places to stop for picnics or to buy food and drink. Used to be a railway line.”

Natural Feature
“The little village of Croyde boasts a beautiful beach with great surf. It is a very pretty village with a vibrant thatched pub "The Thatch" which serves meals and great cream teas. It also has ice cream shops and other places to eat and hosts the Ocean Fest music festival every year. ”

Beach
“Saunton is super popular with longboarders, and is a great beginner beach. You’ll see the longboarders bunched together near the rocks (where a handy rip-current makes getting out easier on big days). Saunton beach is HUGE! The carpark gets full (go early), but if you walk for a few minutes down the beach you’ll find tons of space. Surf rental available.”
