Built in 1888, it remains the world's highest and steepest fully water powered railway and one of only three in the world. With 862 feet of steep track and an elevation of 500 feet, the railway…

Lynton and Lynmouth are approx 30min drive over Porlock Hill and the views are breathtaking on a clear day. The Cliff Railway is unique and worth a visit. There are also lots of independent shops and places to eat.

Kino
“Seating fir only 68 people. This is the smallest town in the country to have a full time cinema. Well worth a visit. And they do great hot chocolate. ”

Natural Feature
“This huge reservoir is popular for all sorts of water sports, also nice for a walk around sometimes if you are lucky otters can be spotted at the end furthest from the car park”

Zoo
“Watchet’s very own zoo! Don’t be put off by its fading elegance and the slightly shabby facade. A very unusual spot. Tropiquaria Zoo is one of the most unique zoos or wildlife parks in the country. The former "Art Deco" BBC radio transmitter station originally built in 1933, now houses the Tropical Hall, Nocturnal House and Aquarium. Outside there’s 4 acres of animal enclosures, along with two life sized pirate ships, and an adventure castle. A great place to take the kids on a wet or sunny day. We hear tell the animals come first and are very well cared for. A unique place, great fun and deserves support. ”
