One of the oldest buildings in Bergen still standing. There is a cannonball stuck in the wall of the tower after a battle in the harbor between the Dutch and the English in the 1665.

The first recorded historical reference to this church is dated 1181 .A cannonball from the 1665 Battle of Vågen between the English and Dutch fleets remains embedded in the cathedral's exterior wall
