Brixham isn’t just about fishing. It’s still one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK and a working town, but it’s also a place where you can discover a range of arts and culture, excellent local food and some unique attractions. Park by the Marina and wander along the waters edge into the busy…

A busy natural working fishing town.A regular passenger ferry across to Torquay. So many places to eat in or get fish & chips takeaway. Families enjoy catching crabs off the harbour wall.

a beautiful working harbour with yachts and fishing boats. Crabbing is a favourite activity for families and in summer the harbour wall is lined with hopeful children!

Cobbled streets surround the picturesque harbour. The Golden Hind a full-sized replica of Sir Francis Drake's iconic exploration ship is worth a visit. Lots of excellent seafood restaurants. Tricky to park by the harbour, so generally a short walk down hill to get there.

“Pretty setting but no sandy beach. Cary Arms gastropub with spectacular views over Lyme bay. Nice short flat walk along the beach/boardwalk to the adjacent Oddicombe beach from where you can take the funicular railway back up to the Babbacombe Downs. During high season you may want to park near the Downs (at the top) as there is only limited parking at Babbacombe beach and the drive down is extremely narrow and steep. Sammy the seal is often about and we have spotted dolphins here too.”
