City of Austin enclosed the loop around Townlake and now visitors can enjoy both sides of the water with uninterrupted trails, boardwalks and beautiful bridges.

Enter this boardwalk on the east side near Riverside. Walk up under I35, up to Congress bridge, across and back to Rainey St. for drinks and food!

Great little hiking trail can be found if you walk alongside the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. Make sure to take a picture from the boardwalk!
