This is where little city kids first encounter equestrians. If they take to it, like my daughter did, they end up at the Equestrian Center in Burbank riding and feeding and stabling horses. There are lots of trail riding possibilities in G.P. The stables are located at the western edge of the park. Any excuse to enter these sacred grounds is a good one. Along with Central Park (where I was born), Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, and the parks of San Francisco and San Diego, I like silver magnate Griffith P. Griffiths gift to the fledgling City of L.A. the best!

Griffith Park is a large municipal park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains, in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The park covers 4,310 acres of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America.

If you want to go to a park, not too far from ths house, this place is huge. Close to the LA ZOO and it has a Merry Go Round and Old train cars you can check out.

Fun carousel and kids park. Plenty of lawn for sports as well.
