Reachable via a couple of pedestrian/bike bridges from the NEMO Science Museum, this cool, laid-back waterside cafe is built from recycled materials and has a fantastic leafy beer garden. Join the arty crowd enjoying the sunshine at brightly coloured picnic tables under the trees. If the weather's…

Take the ferry by the central station to get across the IJ-river and to Hanneke's boom, a nice, superrelaxed spot by the water

“In summer it has a city beach, in winter it's still very nice to visit this old industrial port area and have a drink/lunch or dinner with a view.”

“There is a lot to see and do in Amsterdam, all depending on your taste. If we were in the neighborhood, you could run into us and other locals at Roest. If the weather is nice, nothing beats Amsterdam Roest (5-10 min walk) at Jacob Bontiusplaats. At an old factory location, Roest has a pseudo beach area, a rough edged arty atmosphere and plenty of cold drinks.”

“Our windmill tap room is located in the same former bathhouse that also houses our first brewery, right under Amsterdam’s biggest windmill. It opens at 2pm and closes at 8pm every day of the year, including holidays. The majority of beers that we brew are available on tap in this tap room. It’s self-service only so order your drink at the bar and find yourself a suitable spot. In summer there’s also long tables outside on our terrace, and in winter you’ll find shelter between the old bathhouse walls. Of course this place is mainly about the beer but for those who don’t appreciate that beautiful style of drink there are a few wine, juice and soda options. Food wise we offer a basic menu of tasty beer snacks. We selected a few cheeses, sausages and other bites we think go down very well with our beer. It’s self-service here again. You’ll find all the options on the menu at the kitchen. There is no table reservation, so come early or make friends and squeeze in. We don’t host stag parties in our tap room. Opening hours: 14:00 hrs and closes at 20:00 hrs every day of the year, including holidays.”

“EYE Film Institute Netherlands is a film archive and museum in Amsterdam that preserves and presents both Dutch and foreign films. They have an insane collection of movies, posters and other filmrelated objects. Not to mention that the building will catch your eye, not only the outside! Also nice with kids!”

Karibisches Restaurant
“(Spring and summertime). Want to sit in the sun on the waterside and enjoy some nice drinks with all the other young people in Amsterdam? Go here and see all the boats pass while sipping some beers or cocktails. Tip: if you want to try some dishes from Suriname, the best roti can be found here (the roti roll is exquisite!)”
