“This is one of the most stunning streets on the North Shore! You cannot miss this street when you are in Salem, The homes are magnifiscent. The Chestnut Street District is a historic district here in Salem, Massachusetts. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The district contains a number of architecturally significant works of Samuel McIntire, a builder and woodworker who had a house and workshop at 31 Summer Street, and who designed and built a number of these houses, and others that display the profits made in the Old China Trade by Salem's merchants. The district is a subset of a larger locally designated McIntire Historic District.”

“Another old restaurant in town, a long run. Traditional Italian right next to Hawthorne Hotel. Great food and cute place. Squid ink pasta was my favorite.”

History Museum
“The Salem Maritime National Historic Site covers about 9 acres along the waterfront of Salem Harbor. The site comprises 12 historic buildings that were associated with the maritime history of Salem in the 18th and 19th centuries. There is also the recreated 171-foot 3-mast Friendship vessel. It is an exact replica of the 1797 ship which made 12 voyages across the globe to India, China, Russia, and South America. The replica is open to the public as a museum. ”
