Crab Apple offers a chance to raft down the Deerfield River, and follow it up with a relaxing snack or drink on the patio overlooking the river.

A really fun day of guided white water rafting; our kids always loved doing this. Pretty mellow overall, a few rapids but mostly lazy drifitng.

“15 min away, Fabulous, affordable, 4 season resort. There is a good variety of ski trails for all levels, rentals, snowboarding, tubing and night skiing. Berkshire East is affordable, wind powered, and they have a great lodge with live music on the weekends. This place has it all. In the summer and fall you can do aerial ropes, mountain biking, tubing, zip lining, hiking and mountain coasters! ”

“The modern trail is part of Route 2, which runs east and west across northern Massachusetts. There are various formal and informal designations of the Mohawk Trail’s endpoints, but the most rewarding miles lie between North Adams, in the northern Berkshires, and Greenfield. That’s about 37 miles. From the west, in North Adams, the road winds first up the precipitous slopes of the Hoosac Range. Minutes east of downtown North Adams — about four miles, or where your ears begin to pop — you’ll reach the trail’s famous Hairpin Turn. There’s room to park, and a restaurant, the Golden Eagle, and the sublime view over the northern Berkshires that appears in so many vintage Mohawk Trail postcards.”
