Crossing this iconic bridge is a free outdoor activity with great views of the Manhattan skyline! Along the way, historical plaques will share the story of how the bridge was completed in 1883. Keep an eye out for the padlocks, too—these are locks of love that couples lock to the bridge to symbolize their connection. Start in Manhattan and finish with a ramble through Brooklyn Bridge Park, where you can enjoy pizza at on the roof deck of Fornino on Pier 6 followed by an ice cream cone at Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.

A iconic Bridge that you can walk or bike ride across between Manhattan and Brooklyn. The bridge is also a short walk from the Ground Zero area by the World Trade Center.

Park
“A walk, peddle, or carriage ride through the crisscrossing pathways of Central Park is a must-do on anyone's New York City itinerary. In winter, you can even lace up your skates and glide across Wollman Rink. This huge park in the city center, a half-mile wide and 2.5 miles long, is one of the things that makes New York such a beautiful and livable city. Besides being a great place to experience a little nature, Central Park has many attractions within its borders, and most of them are free, making it one of the few cheap things to do in NYC. Some of the most popular places to visit include the Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, the Central Park Zoo, and the Lake. If you are exploring the park on your own, start by picking up a map at one of the visitor centers and plot your routing.”

“To visit the Statue of Liberty- you must take a ferry cost about $20 usd, this gets you to the island and the pedestal access and a ranger tour. To visit the crown requires making advance reservations. Allow 3-6 hours for this visit.”

“Manhattan’s heart was once a hub for vice, teeming with sex shops and drug dealers. Over time that notorious reputation has eroded, and now the area can feel like a tourist-clogged shopping mall. Still, changes such as the stairs above the TKTS booth and a pedestrian plaza along Broadway have improved the sightseeing experience…sort of. If the thought of attending the annual glitzy New Year’s Eve celebration gives you hives, you can see the midnight countdown re-created on a smaller scale at the Times Square Visitor Center.”

Park
“Urban visionaries Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, who most famously designed Central Park, also put their stamp on bucolic Prospect Park. Amenities like the Long Meadow and Nethermead offer plenty of space to pull up on a patch of grass and indulge in some people-watching, and the woodland expanse of the Ravine is a towering forest within bustling Brooklyn. But we also have to give props to Robert Moses: The controversial city planner was behind some of the park’s kid-friendly offerings, including the zoo and Wollman Rink.”
