There are 6 wineries within 25 minutes. Don't miss Barboursville, or Early Mountain. Keswick is also beautiful, though the wines are just so-so. Also Horton, Hona Lea (only 2 miles away), and a few others less memorable.

It is a bit of a drive (35 mins) from here, but lovely tastings and great service. If into history, there is a "ruin" of Gov. Barbour's home which was designed by Jefferson that is worth a stroll and a look. If you go there, you are not far from another Frog Jump favorite, the Gordonsville BBQ…

Do a wine tasting at the Vineyard, eat lunch at nearby Palladio restaurant. Go to the Nichols Art Gallery and drop in at Montpelier, home to president James Madison.

“There are a lot of wineries in the area worth a visit, including this one. I'm personally not a wine drinker, but I have to be partial to this particular winery as the Horton's have been family friends of ours since before my time! My sister and I still help work their annual pig roast in mid July. And Dennis Horton, who was a pretty awesome entrepreneur, had some pretty neat stories to tell! ”
