Great place to see Irish Theatre at its Best Galway International Arts Festival July 16_29 giaf.ie Phil Coulter /The High Kings/ Kilfernora Ceile Band /Mary Black have for example performed here. MC Donaghs The Cripple of INiSMAIN has had a successful Review here.

This 1820s building was originally as a courthouse and then the city's Town Hall. In the 1950s the building was converted into a cinema and was where I had my first date !! In 1996 it reopened as the new Theatre and the opening event was the world premiere of the Beauty Queen of Leenane by Martin McDonagh.
