This is a gorgeous loch surrounded by remnants of the ancient Caledonian forest. The walk round it is approx 3 miles. Chance of spotting red squirrels and crested tits.

There are far too many jaw dropping sights in the area to fit into a simple guidebook (Although i will gladly recommend and give advice if asked). I would be remiss however if I didn't make special mention of "loch an eilein". A simply gorgeous Loch with an island castle. Everything about the place is special. The views, the drive to it and of course the castle which itself was used in the Harry Potter franchise as Dumbeldore's tomb. As a family we grew up in the local area and even had a wedding ceremony here so its near and dear to our hearts. Just take the B970 past Ruthven Barracks and take a spectacular, albeit slightly daunting country road to those not used to 1 1/2 track roads. The journey is a 20 to 30 minute drive from 50 The Highstreet.
